TOPIC: How to design and evaluate a performant Fabric Care fragrance?
Fragrance plays a critical role in fabric as it reflects consumers' perception of cleanliness and performance. Evaluating fragrance performance in laundry care is increasingly complex as consumer habits and product formats evolve reshaping expectations, while cultural differences influence what fresh & clean truly mean.
Unlike fine fragrance, fragrances in fabric are incorporated in difficult bases and throughout the product washing cycle. Traditional evaluation protocols often fail to capture these nuances, making best practices and standardized methodologies essential for accurate performance assessment.
The conference will examine how to design robust evaluation protocols that reflect real-life usage scenarios. We explore sensory evaluation techniques, instrumental analysis, and consumer testing approaches that ensure reliability across diverse applications.
Beyond measurement, we address how perfumers can formulate for these new contexts—optimizing fragrance release during real-life consumers’ critical “magic moments” such as wash, dry, and wear.
