Fragrance creativity award

In today’s world, shaped by health priorities and economic pressures, consumers are seeking fragrance experiences that go beyond cleanliness — they long for emotion, comfort, and connection. Fragrance houses worldwide are responding with remarkable creativity, crafting scents that evoke emotions and create lasting impressions on fabrics, spaces, and memories.

Designing the perfect fragrance to reflect a brand’s essence has become essential for building loyalty and standing out in a highly competitive market.

The DETEX2026 Fragrance Creativity Award honors the industry’s most inspiring scent creations — those that successfully balance performance with olfactory beauty, while deeply resonating with today’s consumers.

The fragrance creativity awards consist of three categories:

Shower Gel

Body Mist

Concentrated Floor fresheners CFF

Each category of this award has its own rules

Shower Gel

Participation Parameters :

The shower gel formulation should contain a minimum of 8–10% active surfactant matter.
Fragrance Cost Limit: The cost of the fragrance in the final product should not exceed USD 400 per ton of finished product.
The fragrance and all its components must comply with international health, cosmetic safety, and environmental regulations.
Participants have total creative freedom to design the olfactive profile.
The fragrance should highlight originality, consumer appeal, and suitability for daily body care.
A one-liter sample of the finished shower gel product must be sent to the DETEX team for evaluation.

Body Mist

Participation Parameters :

The body mist should contain a product should not exceed USD 1000 per ton of finished product.
The fragrance and its components must comply with all international health, cosmetic safety, and environmental regulations.
Participants have total creative freedom to define the olfactive profile, with emphasis on long-lasting freshness, skin-friendliness, and consumer appeal.
The formulation should be clear, transparent, and homogeneous (no sedimentation, turbidity, or separation).
Ethanol or water-based carriers may be used, provided they comply with safety regulations.
A one-liter sample of the finished body mist must be sent to the DETEX team for evaluation.

Concentrated Floor fresheners CFF

Participation Parameters :

The submission must be a highly concentrated fragrance oil (minimum 10-25% fragrance load, depending on creative formulation).
The cost of the concentrate should not exceed USD 2000 per ton.
All fragrance ingredients must comply with IFRA standards, Cosmetics Regulation and relevant health & environmental regulations.
Participants have total olfactive freedom to propose unique concentrated fragrance accords.
A 250 ml sample of the concentrated fragrance must be sent to the DETEX team for evaluation.

Participation

All fragrance houses are eligible to participate in this contest.

Each company is entitled to participate in all three award categories.

Each company can only present one product per category.

Participation is free of charge.

Eligibility

The award will be granted to the best works, regardless the author´s nationality, genre or background.

The work delivered must be specific to the purpose of the award.

To be eligible for participation and subsequent award, the candidate should deliver new or improved work.

Jury

Award winners will be selected by a jury formed by independent experts during highly confidential meetings. we guarantee impartial & irrefutable verdict

Jury members are highly qualified in their fields to provide best evaluation / selection criteria

The jury is formed by:

Experts from an International association specialized in personal care.

Evaluation criteria

All entries will be subjected to the evaluation of a group of consumers according to a protocol established by the jury.

The jury’s expertise will be set in place to assess each of the above factors.

General terms conditions

Participation does not imply an award, reserved only for winners.
The winners will be chosen strictly and impartially by a jury of experts.
The decisions rendered by the jury are final and binding, no right for appeal.
Participants are automatically deemed to have agreed to release all papers and documents for the jury's’ assessments.
The winners agree to have their names and a summary of their work/research shared on the Detex website, journal, media promotion and newsletters.
