Topic: High
performance hydrotroping
and degreasing with a superior sustainability profile
Consumers are continually looking
for milder, more sustainable and high-performance cleaning products. In the
area of hard surface cleaning, hydrotropes
are often used to help create attractive, clear shelf-stable formulations,
solubilizing primary surfactants, and elevating cloud point temperatures high
enough to prevent product phase separation in bottle. In addition, a
multifunctional hydrotrope
will provide a better cleaning performance in synergy with the primary
surfactant.
Traditionally these hydrotropes
have either been synthetic in origin and provided no performance boost (SXS
type), or for the multifunctional hydrotropes,
have been based on quat chemistry which can elicit consumer concerns and
restricts usage in more sustainable formulations.
This presentation will describe a novel, non-quat multifunctional hydrotrope
that provides exceptional cleaning, is suited for Ecolabel compliant
formulations and can be widely used for superior performance hard surface
cleaning applications in household, Industrial and Institutional
applications. We will also detail the enhanced sustainability
characteristics of the product (including LCA) and describe the next step to a
future full biobased chemistry
