Topic:
TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM
In this lecture we want to examine
an important issue for sustainability: energy recovery system.
Marsina
has developed technologies in order to match the most modern requirements in
terms of energy saving and environmental pollutants limitation, both for the
spray drying and the sulphonation
plants. Concerning the former, a system has been developed in order to recover
the residual energy contained in the exhaust air leaving the spray drying
tower, which will be used to preheat the drying air fed to the spray drying
tower, therefore reducing the total net need of heat required to produce drying
hot air necessary for drying of detergent base powder.
Regarding the latter, Marsina
has developed a proprietary technology for energy recovery from sulphur
combustion to produce medium pressure steam, which will be used for main needs
of the sulphonation
process, such as sulphur
melting (after
pressure reduction), combustion air
heating, etc. So, how is this a benefit to our clients? First of all, energy
recovery is a way to save
money: there are often initial
costs involved in the implementation of energy efficiency projects, but in the
long term, being able to monitor and reduce energy consumption will mean more
money is available to invest back into other areas. And it’s also good for
planet: global concerns about climate change have increased in
recent years, and fuels combustion
and energy consumption remain the predominant causes of it.
